Serum Ferritin (optimum 30-60)

A1C (less than 5.7 indicates proper glucose use)

Fasting Insulin (2-3 is optimum)

Vitamin D 25-Hydroxy

Our modern American diet contains levels of iron and sugar never before known in human history.

Most (80%) of Americans suffer from insulin resistance and many don't know it.

Millions of Americans suffer from too much iron.

Even if you're thin you can still have insulin resistance.

You can be anemic and still have too much iron.

Sometimes this first symptom (from either condition) is death.

The only way to be certain if you're affected is through lab tests.

Fortunately in most states these tests can be done without having to visit a doctor.

An A1C level of 6.5% or greater is considered Type 2 Diabetes.

A Ferritin level over 200 for women and 300 for men is considered Hemochromatosis.

Medical care is desirable for these conditions.

Note - if your iron level is less than 20, then you have too little iron and should seek medical advice for that.
